Okehampton Argyle 3-2 Exeter Civil Service |
| Venue: simmons Park |
Argyle moved a step closer to the final and within a week have progressed to two cup semi finals with last weeks success
over Exmouth. Civil took an early lead when the Argyle keeper failed to hold on to a cross, the Civil striker pounced to
punish his mistake. Okehampton battled hard and were unlucky when Steve Williams' cross was met by Robbie Sandercock and
came back off the foot of the post. A good move saw Argyle level when Steve Kinsey made a fine run down the right wing
crossing for Steve Williams to equalise.
The second half started with Argyle playing the better football and they were
soon rewarded when Steve Kinsey was brought down in the area and James Williams stepped up to take the penalty.
With a powerful shot he found the corner of the net.
Argyle concentrated on their football and added a third when a
Sandercock corner found James Williams. He made no mistake and hammered the ball home from a tight angle. Civil battled
hard and were denied by a superb save from the Argyle keeper when one on one the keeper spread himself well and saved with
his feet. A good move by Civil was rewarded with a goal when they raided down Argyle's right wing and delivered a good cross
for the striker to cleanly head home.
