Okehampton Argyle 1-0 Liverton |
Both teams put on a really good show considering most of the lads had already put in a full shift at
work and rushed to the ground for this evening kick off. Argyle enjoyed most of the early possession
and played some tidy football with good shape and movement all over the park. Liverton had their
keeper Sammy Robins to thank for pulling off some fine saves, denying first Adam Mortimer then Robbie
Miller and Steve Williams, but on 25 minutes Argyle did unlock the Liverton defence and it was Adam
Mortimer that was played in. He showed good strength to hold off the central defender and calmly
stroke the ball past the keeper.
Argyle continued to play the better football in the second half
and once again it was keeper Robins that restricted them from increasing their lead. Liverton battled gamely,
but in the end, the one goal was enough to secure three valuable points for Argyle.
