Okehampton Argyle 0-2 Plymouth Parkway |
| Venue: Simons Park |
Plymouth Parkway from the Jewson South Western League could not have wished for a better start on Saturday
when they took the lead in the first few minutes, when they were awarded a free kick about 30 yards out.
Argyle placed a four man wall in front of the kicker, but the ball came off a defender's head and ended up in
the top corner of Argyle's net. Argyle pressed and tried to create some forward play but Parkway were well organized
at the back and restricted Okehampton to shoot from range.
Parkway added to the score when Okehampton's
Tim Williams was forced to try and clear the ball under pressure facing his own goal, and unfortunately
put the ball past Daniel Malcolm in the Argyle net. Parkway controlled the remainder of the first half
with some really good possession football and although both goals were slightly fortunate they deserved their lead.
Argyle certainly won the second half with a great attitude and some determined football. They had their
opponents penned back for long periods, and Steve Williams was very unlucky when he beat his marker and
tried to lob the ball over the keeper, just missing the far post. The substitutes for Okehampton were
Evans for Cann on 60 minutes, followed by Sandercock for Wills and Kinsey for Steve Williams.
