Okehampton Argyle 2-0 Pinhoe |
| Venue: Simmons Park |
Mixed Fortunes for Argyle this week with their local derby game against Hatherleigh on Wednesday abandoned
after just 15 minutes due to a broken leg to their promising young midfielder Ed Squires.
Pinhoe were determined to defend throughout, making sure that they packed their defence every time Argyle
mounted an attack. This frustrated Argyle and it was not until the 43rd minute that Steve Williams scored
from close range to give Argyle a deserved lead at the interval.
The second half saw Argyle pin Pinhoe in
their own half for long periods of play. With several missed chances Argyle could not be sure of the win until
Robbie Miller played in Adam Mortimer for Argyle's second. Argyle continued to enjoy most of the possesion,
with Evans and Miller operating well in the middle of the park and Sandercock providing the width on the left.
Argyle can expect much tougher opposition in the weeks to come.
