Teignmouth 1-3 Okehampton Argyle

An excellent win for Okehampton after a superb battling performance in all departments of the squad, with both teams languishing at the bottom end of the league table this really was an important win for Argyle.
Teignmouth threw everything at Argyle in the opening exchanges and Argyle had keeper Daniel Malcolm to thank for a superb double save within ten minutes of the start, argyles best chance fell to Phillip Evans on 15 minutes when a strong run from mid field enabled him to get through the Teingmouth defence but a poor finish allowed the keeper to smother the ball.
Argyles opener came from a good move involving several players and it was James Williams that set the move going with a good through ball to Steve Williams Steve found Ollie Bedford and he beat two players before returning the ball to Steve Williams who crossed for Steve Kinsey to score from close range.
Teignmouth finished the first half strongly but could not undo a well organised Argyle defence of Elliot Collins, James Wiliams, Michael Vernon and Mathew Mortimer. The second half once again saw a good period of play by Teignmouth that won them a few corners but Argyle held firm and soon got their deserved reward of a second goal when Stuart Cann played a ball over the top of the Teignmouth defence for the ever impressive Steve Williams to latch on to finishing well and smashing the ball under the Teignmouth keeper.
Argyle went on to make sure of the points when Steve Willliams added a second and Argyles third latching onto an under strength back pass and cleverly chipping the Teignmouth keeper from twenty yards, Argyle substitutions were Chris Wills for Stuart Cann and Neil Agnew for George Pitts, Teignmouth scored a consolation goal late in the game and pressured Argyle into defending for the last few minutes but Argyle managed to block everything that Teignmouth threw at them with Elliot Collins once again having a superb game.
